The exhibition Venini: Light 1921-1985, dedicated to the history of the Venini laboratory and its activity in the field of lighting, at Le Stanze del Vetro. Thanks to its ability to constantly update itself and its openness to the world of design, Venini has distinguished itself in the sector, becoming a point of reference for the most important architects of the national and international panorama.

The exhibition, through to the selection of 81 objects designed both by various designers in collaboration with the furnace, and by its own technical department, aims to illustrate how the theme of light was addressed in the decades between 1921 and 1985.

Venini: Light 1921-1985 includes two extraordinary installations presented at the Sala Carnelutti of the Giorgio Cini Foundation. The first of these is the famous Velario, built in 1951 for the roof of Palazzo Grassi, dismantled in 1985 and now visible for the first time in almost 40 years. The second, instead, is a tribute to Carlo Scarpa, who has had a long collaboration with the laboratory that ended in 1947. His monumental polychrome multifaceted chandelier, consisting of about 3000 elements, designed by the architect in 1961 for the Veneto pavilion at the Italia 61 exhibition in Turin, will be rebuilt here.
