Forms of drinking, curated by Elisa Testori for InGalleria, the Art Gallery of Punta Conterie, places the glass at the center of the exhibition, exploring it as a design theme and, at the same time, as an object of everyday life, consistent with the narrative and informative objectives of the gallery, pursued through different projects, objects, styles, geographies, techniques and mediums.

The exhibition is divided into two sections. The first, contemporary, presents nine glasses designed specifically by international designers and later realized in Murano. The second, on the other hand, of historical interest, is dedicated to glasses that relate to the history of the twentieth century, to show a possible lexicon of reference in which projects of international designers from Murano, Italy and Europe converge. About fifty “forms of drinking”, each of which represents a possible and valid way of interpreting this small object of everyday life, are exposed.

Lorenzo Damiani, Giulio Iacchetti, Astrid Luglio, Martinelli Venezia, mischer’traxler studio, Luca Nichetto, Philippe Nigro, Ionna Vautrin, Zaven are the nine designers invited to design each a different type of glass: the water-wine-digestive set, a glass dedicated to water, a glass for the wine “of the house”, the couple water and wine, the beer mug, the cocktail cup, the champagne cup, the whiskey glass and the tipetto – traditional Venetian glass, in homage to the place that saw the birth of this project.

Next to these, a selection of glasses drawn from recent history. These are glasses in series, small series or “out of series” that illustrate the history and stories of some of the protagonists among the masters, districts and companies that have been able to combine productive wisdom and design: Guido Balsamo Stella, Achille Castiglioni, Aldo Cibic, Joe Colombo, Piero Fornasetti, Kaj Franck, Johanna Grawunder, Rikke Hagen, Joseph Hoffmann, Richard Hutten, Adolf Loos, Vico Magistretti, Angelo Mangiarotti, Alessandro Mendini, Carlo Moretti, Yoichi Ohira, Peter Pelzel, Gio Ponti, Roberto Sambonet, Alvaro Siza, Ettore Sottsass, Lino Tagliapietra, Matteo Thun, Carlo Tosi “Caramea”, Tapio Wirkkala, Marco Zanuso.
