Hayan Kim is a jewellery designer from South Korea.
Her works deal interdisciplinary with the interfaces between jewellery and product design.
She derives the concepts of her work from her personal experiences.
The capturing of moments, thoughts and feelings form the basis of her work. Her art represents the »in-between« of German and Korean culture.
The viewer and bearer of her products can wear these »interculturally in-between« experiences in their own everyday lives.

Title: Partake

Size: irregular

Her works show different ways of participation and communication in the field of jewelry.
She developed this project: people are different, in this series of my works, they have to make their own choice, they can participate in the final design of a piece.
They have the right to decide how they want the jewelry to look like in the end.
In most cases jewelry works as follows: people buy the finished jewelry piece and wear it the way it is without any possibility to add their own preferences.
What she tries to do is giving the people a choice, so that they can purchase and design their own piece in their favorite colors and forms.
She provides the materials and they create.
