The Foundations of our built are never really invisible. In Venice, they are submerged only seemingly, innervating with a writing the bottom of the Lagoon making it almost intuitable. A script composed of letters and elemental wooden syllables that is the primary raison d’être of the stable forms of lapidary architecture. Every foundation in Venice is a resonant syllable to the submerged plural. The imperceptible oscillation in response to sea currents seem nothing but the constant equation of the vital resilience of the origins of the City founded in Sea. But the summation of subtle tremors cyclically becomes the telluric, epochal shaking of the Foundations forcing us to call this oscillation of the Roots, History. It is an opportunity here to observe in an attempt to reclaim what we are, or think we are. Our perception of the importance of the Roots prevents the risk of becoming complicit in a process where Time is deprived of the historical sense which is its authentic measure. It is tantamount to depriving us of participation, in the plural, in a Future inevitably organized in cycles seemingly indifferent to the times of our living. Our identities today oscillate, circular, around the Venetian Decalogue of the Foundations.

The oscillation, the latent kineticism of the installation Fondamenta corresponds to the research originated in the perpetual questioning of the meaning of the words of the Venetian Decalogue.
