MEET the DESIGNERS Wednesday, October 5th, 12pm
Reserve your spot on eventbrite or via email at rsvp@venicedesignweek.it indicating “meet the designers/ ARTIFACT”

The exhibition ARTIFACT collects a selection of designers, inviting them for the occasion to furnish a Venetian house with unique handicrafts made with ancient techniques. Designers from all over the world have interpreted and invented the contemporary, having studied techniques and systems of local production typical of their countries of origin, innovating with contemporary technologies increasingly attentive to the study of human needs. The ability to invent the new and to approach the environment with an eye to sustainability makes the object of contemporary use capable of expressing the value that every designer wants to convey to us.

ARTIFACT is an exhibition curated by Francesca Braga Rosa and Ivano Vianello.

Exhibiting designers and studios:

CRAAFTS
Craafts is a lab of Artisans and Architects (as evoked in the double A of the brand), which offers an extremely vast sample of textile surfaces that can be used in very different manners. The projects are generally related to particular productions that require very special realization, from haute couture, niche productions of high craftsmanship to the planning of individual pieces made with precious manual processing.

Roberta Mitrovich
Roberta Mitrovich was born in Vicenza in 1965. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and then dedicated herself to ceramics, under the guidance of Claudio Reginato. In the nineties she has produced a ceramic line for il Sole 24 Ore. She then exhibited for Eclettica in Milan and in the ABC gallery in Milan. Her works have been published for AD Magazine.

Lucia Campiello
Artist, ceramist and jewel designer, Lucia Campiello loves working with the alchemy of the elements. Creative and eclectic spirit, she uses many materials ranging from refractory materials, clay, to mineral oxides, with which she creates vases, objects, sculptures, necklaces and porcelain.

Nicola Tessari
After a degree in electronic engineering and 15 years in the industrial branch, he decided to follow his dream: open a lab in the heart of mountains in Schio, Vicenza, approaching the artisanal work of solid wood, in a completely new and at the same time exquisitely antique way. He creates custom furniture, artistic lathes and wooden lamps. He designs and realizes each piece, sometimes collaborating with architects and designers. He uses traditional tools and techniques curving the shapes manually. The idea that inspires him is to build objects that have a soul; the key of his work is to make people feel the uniqueness that’s inside each piece of wood.

KANZ
KANZ is a design studio founded in Venice in 2014 by architects Mauro Cazzaro and Antonella Maione. They plan residential architecture and commercial interiors, product design, ideate and realise exhibition events and installations. Both architects beside cooperating with design complements and lighting companies, plan and commercialise their own independent production under the brand KANZ. With their work they intend to communicate the idea that the value of an object is real if it is able to add something to the experience of what you already know.

ivdesign
ivdesign was founded in Vicenza in 2007. The studio is very much focused on the man and his needs, configuring itself as a place of experimentation where elementary answers to the needs of a society and of an evolving context arise. The activity of ivdesign indeed begins as an artisan lab for the creation and sale of unique objects and design pieces; projects that address and respond to issues related to the home life, the work and play dimensions. ivdesign adopts an elementary but recognizable linguistic code where subtraction and simplicity generate an intelligent form of design.
